We can recommend additional destinations and plans based on your preferences and help you get the most out of your visit here. We can link it to other bike trips as well. If you have a partner who doesn’t ride but wants to join let us know too, we have bird watching, hiking, history and other activities that can be done while you pedal.
Fitness and Skill levels: One of the key points to have a great time is to be honest in your fitness and skill levels. This trip in particular is physically demanding during the race days but remember the main goal is to challenge and enjoy yourself. The following days are less demanding in terms of fitness but we will get a bit more technical to enjoy the pleasure of singletracks and ancient stone covered trails. We follow the 9 level Skill and Fitness classification which can be seen here. During your booking we also ask about your previous riding experience and goals to make sure you this is the right fit or you.
[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”OTHER INFORMATION” open=”off” _builder_version=”3.9″ title_text_shadow_horizontal_length=”0em” title_text_shadow_vertical_length=”0em” title_text_shadow_blur_strength=”0em” body_text_shadow_horizontal_length=”0em” body_text_shadow_vertical_length=”0em” body_text_shadow_blur_strength=”0em”]Weather and altitude: The riding will be done in the range of 1000-2500 meters (3000 to 7500ft). We will strive to avoid this from happening of course. Since there is a focus on racing in this trip we recommend a full suspension XC bike. An Enduro Bike will weigh you down on the climbs and on the long days. A good hardtail with good wheels and suspension can work too. Please come with an appropiate and well checked bike.
Renting a Bike: You can rent a bike with us for the duration of the trip if you prefer to save the effort of bringing it here. We will get you a medium-high range bike in very good condition with flat pedals and checked by a mechanic. If you use clipless pedals, please bring them with your shoes. It can be full suspension or a hardtail depending on your preference and the availability. You can choose this option when paying.
The gear: The usual MTB gear is required such as helment, gloves, padded cycling shorts, cycling jersey. Basic tools and a puncture repair kit. The rides will be in temperate weather mostly although rain is very likely as the weather changes.
